Fábio Silva (Lisbon, 1992) holds a master's degree in Cinema from Portugal's School of Theatre and Cinematic Arts. In 2018, he co-directed his first film, HIP TO DA HOP. He followed it with the solo directing of the short films THE DEATH OF ISAAC (A Morte de Isaac) (2019), and the award-winning FRUIT OF THY WOMB (Fruto do Vosso Ventre) (2021), both of which selected for film festivals in Portugal and beyond. In the latter one –– an intimate take on family lore –– Fábio forensically dives into relatable topics of memory, identity, and belonging in diaspora culture. He is currently working on his upcoming debut documentary feature, YOUR EARS ARE STILL BURNING (As Tuas Costas Ainda Ardem).
